Stanford Medical Youth Science Program (SMYSP)
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stanford has determined that on-campus residential programs should be shifted to an online-only format or otherwise be canceled. Unfortunately, the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program (SMYSP) residential program is on hiatus for summer 2020. We look forward to providing updates about future SMYSP programming.
Explore the field of medicine this summer at Stanford.
Stanford Medical Youth Science Program offers a five-week medical summer residential program for low-income and underrepresented students from select counties in Northern and Central California. The twenty-four admitted participants in grades 10 and 11 work closely with Stanford faculty, researchers, students, and Stanford Health Care Hospital professionals.
All participants live on Stanford campus where they receive mentorship in the field of medicine through faculty lectures, laboratories, college admissions guidance, mentoring, and a hands-on medical internship.
This program is tuition free.
